Wren & Kiln is a WooCommerce learning environment: a complete, working shop with fictional products and fictional history.

What this site is

• A real WordPress + WooCommerce installation with the free Storefront theme and a small custom child theme.
• Twelve fictional products, including variable pottery (a small and a large size), seasonal pieces, gift sets, an accessory and a free downloadable care card.
• Six months of generated order history, so the reports and analytics have something to say.
• A playground for learning catalog setup, inventory, coupons, shipping, tax, orders, refunds, reporting and AI-assisted store operations.

How browsing works

• Anyone can browse the catalog, filter by glaze, size and price, and add items to a cart.
• Checkout is limited to the owner’s training customer account. Public sign-up is off.
• The only payment method is “Demo checkout — no payment collected”. No card is asked for, nothing is charged, nothing ships.
• Emails the store sends (order confirmations, password resets) are caught by an internal mail catcher and never delivered.

Things to try while browsing

• Open the Riverstone Mug and switch between Small and Large: price, image, weight and stock change per variation.
• Look at the Ink Blue Plate (a low-stock small plate), the Ash Glaze Vase (a backorderable large vase) and the First Frost Platter (sold out).
• Add items to the cart and try the coupons WELCOME10, KILN5 and the expired SUMMER15.
• Use the cart’s shipping calculator with a New York address and with an address in another state to see the fictional 5% training tax appear and disappear.
