FAQ

Questions about the pottery, and questions about the demo.

About the pottery

What is it made of?

In the story: a mid-fire stoneware clay, glazed with recipes mixed in the studio and fired to cone 6. Remember that the products are fictional.

Which size should I choose?

Each piece comes in a small and a large size, and what that means depends on the piece: a 10 oz or 14 oz Riverstone Mug, a cereal bowl or a serving bowl. The size details are on every product page.

Why does my piece look slightly different from the photo?

Everything is thrown and glazed by hand, so size and glaze vary a little from piece to piece. (In this demo the photos are illustrations, which makes the point even more true.)

Why is the First Frost Platter sold out?

It is the demo’s out-of-stock example: its stock is set to zero with backorders switched off.

Why can I order the large Ash Glaze Vase when it has no stock?

That variation is the demo’s backorder example. Backorders are allowed on it (and only on it), with a notice to the customer.

About the demo

Can I buy something?

No. Wren & Kiln is a fictional store for learning WooCommerce. Checkout works only for the owner’s training account, never collects payment, and nothing ships.

Why can’t I create an account or leave a review?

Public registration and review submission are switched off so the demo cannot collect anyone’s personal information. The reviews you see are fictional samples and are labeled that way.

Are the reviews and customers real?

No. Every review, customer and order is generated sample data. Customer email addresses use reserved example domains.

Will this site show up in search engines?

It asks them not to index it, with a noindex directive on every page.
